 The sports carnival is around the corner. Sisters Ella and Olivia are training for their individual and combined

events. There is the egg and spoon race, the three-legged race, the tug-of-war, and lots of others. Ella and Olivia are on the purple team. They practice their chants and war cries, and are encouraged by their parents to become sports champs. Parents are allowed to enter one event to gain points for their team.

All the teams long for the big prize - a day at the Slip and Slide Water Park. Which team will get the most points and win?

This is a terrific series for early readers, mainly girls. Its themes cover teamwork competiveness, and good sportsmanship. It also emphasises and encourages movement and personal development through sporting activities.
